Prada, with her mommy’s favorite shoes and bag
This is a story of rescue. Meet Prada. Her mom is one of the most amazing women I know. She has rescued many dogs and helps to place other dogs in permanent homes through her networking efforts. Prada’s mom already had Coco Chanel, SoHo and Chelsea in her home when she adopted Prada. She has recently added Broadway and Lexi to the mix as well. Her fur kids are affectionately known as The Neighborhoods. 🙂
Prada was a stray in Darlington, North Carolina and was placed in a high kill shelter. Fortunately a Pennsylvania rescue pulled her from the euthanasia list and her new mom-to-be couldn’t resist her. Prada was adopted on December 11, 2011, at the age of three with a broken jaw but not a broken spirit.

Prada’s mom waited a few months for Prada to put on some weight and to allow her hair to grow back in before scheduling her portrait. Look at her now!

Prada After — Look what a little love does!
Prada really loves the camera and Prada’s mom really loves fashion! We thought it would be fun to photograph Prada with some special accessories. Prada thoroughly enjoyed herself, even though she was not permitted to chew the props.

I like this box, Mom!
Prada’s mom was so thrilled with the photos from this session that she sent some images to . . . Prada, of course. The company sent her back a book. How cool is that? Of course we had to do another photo session.

Prada sent us this book, Mom? Wow! How nice! Thank you!

I’ve been sitting so nicely. Where are my treats?
I have been very fortunate to have photographed Prada for some really fun things. How about this Halloween costume?

Prada makes the perfect Ewok!
Prada is also known as She Who Steals the Spotlight. She insisted on not sitting with her siblings for their holiday card. She sat on the arm of the sofa and the back of it, but would not sit with the group. Such a diva!

And during this year’s holiday card session, she preferred my lap. I was good with that. 🙂

Prada, you’re supposed to be IN the photo — not on the photographer’s lap.
Thank you to all of you who rescue and foster and network to save lives like Prada’s. Keep up the good work!
